Summer learning journey

Today for the summer learning journey day 2 week 2 activity 3 "I Have a Dream"

What did Rosa face that day on the bus?

That day on the bus the bus driver was being racist and telling her that she has to move so a white person could have her seat. Rosa Parks said "NAH" and refused to give her seat to them. Then she was arrested and charged with  "Refusing to obey orders of a bus driver" after that black people refused to go on buses for many months. In November 1956 the supreme court ruled that segregation on public buses was against the law so that meant that black people could sit in any seat they wanted.

I hope you enjoyed

  1. Hi Harrison

Thanks for sharing what you have learnt about Rosa Parks. She is a very important part of American history.
Did you know anything about this before you did this activity?

I am so pleased that this kind of thing does not happen anymore. In the words of your Nana.

" Always treat people the same way you want to be treated"

This means be nice to people and they will probably be nice to you.

This really does go a long way.

You will learn more about Rosa Parks and American history when you are older and at High School. There is so much to learn about it all.

    Once again well done Harrison.

    Until next time

    Allie :)
